Candy 3D Printer
This was a group project I completed my senior year of college at the University of Texas at Austin. The open ended assignment was to create a functional food 3D printer from scratch. We built a sintering machine which fuses granular sugar into a solid caramel-like candy. I designed and built the coreXY system which translates the gantry over the print bed. It includes custom machined components, and was built on only a $250 budget.

I demonstrate the functionality of this device and explain how it works. This includes everything from an early hand sketch to a functional prototype.
